Report Setup
The report setup wizard guides you through configuring your VSME report before you begin writing.
Setup steps
1. Define scope
Specify the boundaries of your report:
- Which parts of your organization are included.
- The geographic coverage.
- Any exclusions and their rationale.
2. Select assessment (optional)
If you have completed a Double Materiality Assessment, you can link it to your VSME report:
- Material topics from the assessment inform your report structure.
- Linking is optional; you can proceed without an assessment.
3. Company context
Provide background information about your organization:
- Organization name and description.
- Industry and sector.
- Number of employees.
- Revenue and key financial metrics (as relevant).
- Geographic locations.
4. Report settings
Configure report-level settings:
- Reporting period (start and end dates).
- Report language.
- Branding options (logo, colors).
5. Select subtopics
Choose which sustainability subtopics to include in your report:
- Browse available subtopics organized by ESG category.
- Select the subtopics relevant to your organization.
- Karomia provides guidance on which subtopics are most commonly selected by similar organizations.

You can return to the setup at any time to adjust your selections. Changes to subtopics will update the report structure accordingly.
After setup
Once setup is complete, you will be directed to the report editor to begin writing your report.
