What is Karomia?
Karomia is a sustainability management platform that helps organizations manage ESG reporting, conduct Double Materiality Assessments, track emissions, and generate CSRD-compliant sustainability reports.
Who is Karomia for?
Karomia is designed for organizations of all sizes that need to manage sustainability reporting. This includes:
- Companies required to report under the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
- Small and medium-sized enterprises voluntarily reporting using the VSME standard.
- Organizations in the value chain of CSRD-reporting companies.
- Any organization looking to manage their ESG data and reporting professionally.
What standards does Karomia support?
Karomia supports:
- CSRD — Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
- ESRS — European Sustainability Reporting Standards.
- VSME — Voluntary Standard for non-listed Small and Medium-sized Enterprises.
- GRI — Global Reporting Initiative.

Assessments
Do I need to complete a DMA before creating a report?
For CSRD reports, it is strongly recommended to complete a DMA first. The DMA determines which ESG topics are material, which in turn defines which ESRS disclosures must be included in your report. For VSME reports, a DMA is optional.
How long does a Double Materiality Assessment take?
The timeline varies depending on your organization's size and complexity. Typically, a DMA takes several weeks to a few months, including stakeholder engagement and data collection.
Can I have multiple active assessments?
Yes. You can create multiple assessments, for example for different reporting periods, entities, or to compare results across different scopes.
Surveys
How do stakeholders access the survey?
Stakeholders receive a link (via email, messaging, or QR code) that opens the survey in their web browser. No account or app installation is required.
Are survey responses anonymous?
Responses are grouped by stakeholder category. Individual responses are not attributed to specific people, though the system tracks which groups have responded.
In which languages are surveys available?
Surveys are available in English, French, Dutch, Italian, Polish, German, Portuguese, and Spanish. Respondents choose their language when they open the survey.
Reports
Can multiple people edit a report at the same time?
Yes. Karomia supports real-time collaborative editing. Multiple team members can work on the same report simultaneously, with live cursor tracking and automatic conflict resolution.
What export formats are available?
Reports can be exported as PDF documents. Data tables can also be exported as Excel files. Bulk exports (report + attachments) are available as ZIP files.
Can I reuse content from a previous report?
Yes. You can duplicate an existing report to use it as a starting point for a new reporting period.
Emissions
Which emission scopes does Karomia support?
Karomia supports all three scopes of the GHG Protocol: Scope 1 (direct emissions), Scope 2 (indirect from purchased energy), and Scope 3 (all other indirect emissions in the value chain).
How does anomaly detection work?
Karomia analyzes your emissions data to identify entries that deviate significantly from expected patterns. Flagged anomalies can be reviewed, confirmed, or corrected.
Account and security
How do I reset my password?
Click Forgot password on the sign-in page, enter your email address, and follow the instructions in the reset email.
Does Karomia support Single Sign-On (SSO)?
Yes. Karomia supports SSO through your corporate identity provider. Contact your administrator for setup details.
Can I enable multi-factor authentication?
Yes. You can enable MFA from your security settings. Karomia supports authenticator app-based verification.
