Emission Targets
Setting emission targets helps your organization define clear reduction goals and track progress over time. Karomia allows you to create, manage, and monitor targets aligned with your sustainability strategy.
Creating a target
- Navigate to Emissions and select the Targets section.
- Click New Target.
- Define the target parameters:
- Target name — A descriptive name for the target.
- Baseline year — The reference year for measuring reductions.
- Target year — The year by which the target should be achieved.
- Reduction percentage — The desired reduction relative to the baseline.
- Scope — Which emission scopes the target covers.
- Save the target.
Tracking progress
Once targets are set, Karomia automatically calculates your progress:
- Current reduction — How much you have reduced compared to the baseline.
- On track indicator — Whether you are on pace to meet the target by the target year.
- Gap analysis — The remaining reduction needed.
Managing targets
From the targets overview, you can:
- Edit targets — Update parameters as your strategy evolves.
- Archive targets — Keep historical targets for reference without cluttering the active view.
- Compare targets — View multiple targets side by side.
info
Emission targets are often aligned with frameworks like the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) or the Paris Agreement goals. Karomia helps you track progress, but the target-setting methodology should align with your chosen framework.
Using targets in reports
Your emission targets and progress are available for inclusion in your sustainability reports, providing stakeholders with transparency on your reduction commitments.
